Field Notes Editorial Platform
A content-first publishing platform designed to make long-form stories easier to read and easier to manage.
Field Notes approached us with a growing archive of interviews, essays, and visual stories that had outgrown its original site. The challenge was to create a platform that respected the reading experience while giving editors a practical publishing workflow.
We developed a cleaner article structure, stronger typographic hierarchy, and a modular system for images, pull quotes, and related content. The design aimed to feel quiet and confident, allowing the stories to lead while still giving the publication a distinct identity.
On the editorial side, the new structure made it easier to maintain consistency across different article types and contributors. Readers could discover content more naturally, and the team gained a more scalable foundation for future growth.
The finished platform feels more mature, more readable, and better aligned with the quality of the publication's voice.
